 Funnel traps are useful tools for monitoring moths. They give information on the population density of the pest and help the grower to determine the optimal control strategy. These traps are designed for multi-season use and are resistant to severe weather conditions. Funnel trap has three components

  • 1) Canopy: 136mm Dia x 2mm thickness
  • 2) Funnel trap base: 105mm (Dia of the mouth) x 70mm (Height of the funnel) x 30mm (Dia of the bottom hole) and T shaped handle to hang up the trap. Three Stalks for fixing canopy to the trap base
  • 3)Collection Device: Polythene bag of 175mm (Width) X 555 mm (Height)

Handling Instructions
  1. Always see that trap canopy stays 1 ft above crop canopy.
    2. Trap should always be in upright position.
    3. There should be no obstacles around trap up to 1.5mtrs.
    4. Always use ‘T’ pin to fix lure.
    5. Always use clean hands while handling lures.
    6. Remove insects frequently (alternate day is preferable) from collection bag. Useful for identifying pest intensity in time and also increases live of collection bag.
    7. Change lures at specific intervals for getting optimum performance from trap.
    8. Keep data record of minimum 2- 4 traps for each insect.
    9. Always install traps from 1 month crop stage for early control of insects. Remember that Pheromone traps control the next coming generation. Control them before they build up.
